In 2024, Storyvox was given the amazing opportunity to produce Nothing New: Archives of Affection. A mini-documentary diving into a carefully curated collection of tintype photographs from the early 1900s. We wanted it to feel like we were stepping back in time to the 1900s. Virtual production was the key to allowing us to easily create a period-accurate setting to where these photographs came from. [insert some specific items or things they included in creating this period setting] In every frame, we made sure to capture the timeless beauty and showcase how intimate early photography was. We highlighted themes of memory, affection, and the charm of old-school photography. The plan was to complement the exhibition, but the documentary went further than expected.
The documentary didn’t just connect with audiences, but it caught the eyes of award judges too. At the 2025 American Advertising Federation District 4 Awards, in Orlando, walked away with a Gold ADDY and the coveted Charlie Award for Best in Film, Video and Sound. What makes this so special is, the Charlie is awarded to only one entry per category across the entire district, including top creative work from the whole state of Florida and the Caribbean. There were thousands of entries submitted and judged, making this award a true reflection of creative excellence. It was an honor to be graced with this award, and it was a testament to all the craft, creativity, and storytelling we poured into bringing this historic collection to life.
